Describe a system.
Watch it being drawn.

ArkDraw is a diagram editor with an AI assistant that draws, edits and animates real architecture diagrams, with the official cloud icons, clean connectors and nothing to clean up afterwards.

Free and open source. Runs in your browser: no install, no account, no servers.

A real recording: one prompt, official AWS icons, routed arrows, animated request flow.

Works with the model you already pay for, or one that runs on your laptop

The AI assistant

Say what you need. It does the drawing.

No mode to pick and no template to fight. On an empty canvas it draws; on your diagram it edits. Every change pops in place and is one undo away.

Edits your diagram, not a copy of it

"Add a Redis cache between the instances and the database, and animate the data flow." It reads what's on the canvas, changes only what you asked, and shows you exactly what moved.

  • Understands "this" as your selection
  • Adds, rewires and restyles in one step
  • Undo with Ctrl Z

Diagrams that move

"Show the events moving as dots." Ask for flow and it animates the connectors: marching dashes for requests, travelling dots for data, a pulse for the service that's on fire. Export it as a GIF for your README or slides.

  • Flow, dots and pulse effects
  • Step-by-step build sequences
  • Animated GIF export

Every cloud, the right icons

Official AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Oracle and Kubernetes icons, grouped in VPCs, VNets, subnets and resource groups with their own logos, and laid out so arrows never cross a box.

  • 14,000+ icons, searchable with typos and acronyms
  • Connectors routed together, one port each
  • Groups with the provider's logo

And a serious editor underneath

Everything you expect, done properly.

Your files, your disk

Open and save diagrams as plain JSON files that diff in git. No account, no cloud storage.

Open formats

Opens and saves .drawio and .vsdx; imports Mermaid, Graphviz, CSV and SQL.

Straight connectors

Hover a segment and drag it: it snaps into line with the shapes, and leftover bends disappear.

Installs as an app

Add it to your dock or start menu from the browser, and keep working offline.

Keys stay with you

Your API key is encrypted in your browser and sent only to your provider. ArkDraw has no servers.
